A usually reliable source close to the inner workings of the NZ First Party advises that the two men charged with fraud by the SFO, in relation to the New Zealand First Foundation, are Doug Woolerton and Brian Henry.
Woolerton is a former NZF Party President, MP, and Deputy Leader. I've always thought he was quite a good bloke. He works as a lobbyist in Wellington.
Henry is of course Winston Peters' personal lawyer. I've only met him a few times. He was the star turn at a "Frighten the candidates into submission" meeting, ahead of the Party conference prior to the election in 2017.
The suggestion that Peters had no knowledge of, or involvement in, the activities of the Foundation is, in my opinion, utterly ludicrous and not remotely plausible.
